HertsSQUASH County Committee Meetings |

|
At Isobel’s house at 6.30 p.m. on 8th December 2005 Present: Isobel Smith, Sally Ann Webster, Jason Foster, Fiona McLure and Paul Drakes Apologies: Derek Thorpe, Dean Clayton, Lesley Garner and Dominic Webster, Nicky Wase Chairman’s Report Welcome to Paul Drakes who is joining the committee as Treasurer. Herts Closed 2006 – 21st/22nd January 2006 Jason confirmed that the form had now been put on the website. Isobel will ask Lesley whether she could send forms out to all the names on her database. Sponsorship has been received from Integral again, thanks to them and also Just Rackets. We need to encourage players of all different standards to enter. The Masters Closed was scheduled in for weekend 1st/2nd April at Bishops Stortford. We will wait to see how many entries we receive and then send further emails and reminders at the time. Jason will organise the new trophies. Geoff Long at Broxbourne Squash Club will help at the weekend. Junior Committee Jason to liaise with Junior Committee regarding their £1500, which is due, but to also mention the possibility of investing in a new web page and maybe, as they benefit from the links, to ask if they wished to contribute to cost of it. England Squash HSRA have been fined £130 for the withdrawal of the Mens O35 team. Mens League Sally Ann reported that the leagues were going well. There are still some teams who are not putting their results online, so Sally Ann will remind players exactly what the procedure is following a match. Hailebury are still experiencing problems with timing of courts, but it will have to be down to communication between teams to arrange for someone to be there early to get the match started. The Cup event will be run but we need a venue for the finals in April, perhaps Cannons or Gosling. Fiona mentioned that she had received a letter from England Squash regarding a squash coach who is currently under investigation and not to use him. No name given. Make sure that Jason and the Junior committee are aware. Ladies League Leagues are running smoothly. There will be no summer league but Fiona has sent out a letter asking if players are interested in a team competition. Treasurer Unfortunately Dean was unable to be at the meeting but Paul Drakes has offered to become treasurer. Paul told the committee that he was treasurer on a number of other committees and would only wish to take the job if he could change to using electronic banking, as this was much easier. This would mean changing the current account from NatWest to Lloyds and also streamlining the accounts. He would then be able to pay amounts directly into people’s accounts, once they had given him the details. The committee agreed that this would be acceptable. Need to meet up with Dean to handover the cheque books and account details.
