Finances: £1500 received from the Senior Committee. Current balance £7136.

Herts Closed:

Ron Worrell has everything in hand. Entry numbers were finalized at 187. - Another record – Well done Ron.

Ron cannot be present on the actual days but has arranged Simon Barnes to run the U13/U17 and Bob Fowler the U15/U19. Thanks goes to these for there help.

Sponsors were obtained :

Exel – Trophies and engraving

Arlon Printing – Logo on shirts

Dunlop – rackets and bags.

Our sincere thanks goes to these supporters as without such assistance finances are heavily dented which in turn affects what we can do for squash in the County.

A question was asked by John Milton how the committee would view the possibility that certain players played in the Nordic Open as against the Hertfordshire Closed.

After much discussion it was decided to not endorse such an action although the final decision lay with the individual players. A letter was sent to John by Ray Waller detailing the opinions of the committee and how it might affect county selection.

Inter Club – The new season has been scheduled and the following entries received:

20 teams in Division 1
30 teams in Division 2

The idea is to try and get at least 2 games on each trip. This is simply not possible if there are even numbers in a league. It always gives 1 odd match. When this happens we urge team managers to set up a friendly.

The Inter Club leagues commence on 7th October.

Inter County: These have now been received.

14th Oct – U19’s away v Suffolk and Essex 2.
U15’s away v Essex, Gloucester 1 and Surrey 2.

U15 Girls away - Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

Chris Thomas has the U19’s in hand.
Ray Waller is selecting the U15 team and leaving the management on the day to Bob Fowler and one of the Mulvey’s.

An U9/U11 County friendly against Norfolk is arranged for October 7th.
