Herts County Junior Meeting
5/6/06
Present: Ray, Ron Worrell, Steve Lloyd, Chris Thomas, Julian
Craxton
Apologies: Dave Kerr, Dudley, Simon Andrews, Dave Richards.
Finances Have ONLY £1553. This is after all expenses up to the
above date. This is not a very healthy balance and even with £1500 from
the Senior pot for 2006/07 a £3000 starting balance is half of what we
started with last season.
NEW Awards for all - The need to put in a new application is
paramount if we are to continue with the level of assistance given over
the past few years.
Ron Worrell is to look at the wording of a new application and find out
what we need to look at if the application is to be a success.
Ron to contact the area England Squash Rep. to see if they can help. Was
Nick Metcalf.
Steve Lloyd to see if he can get support from special needs school at
Batchwood. Chris Thomas to speak with Steve Nelson who plays at Gosling
and teaches at the local deaf and Dumb school.
If Dave Sciberras has any thoughts then please relay them to me before the
next meeting. Please speak to Ron with any ideas if you wish.
A new Draft Application should be ready for the next meeting.
Awards for All : Broxbourne are having great success with local schools
and have retained 40 children playing. They are providing 2 Saturday clubs
and two midweek clubs. They have one more £120 funding to receive.

Inter County : U13 Girls
CHAMPIONS! Well done and big thanks to Julian and Steve. They beat
Warwickshire in semis 2-1 and Yorkshire in the final 2-1. Full

Well done to Gemma Ockwell, Anna Bradley, Brogan Lane and Jessica Foster.

U14 Girls Beat Cambridge to
take the Eastern Counties trophy. We had 11 girls in the squad from 5
different clubs which shows we are getting some depth into the Girls
squash.
U19 Boys Were eventual runners up having upset expectations by beating
Devon in the Semi finals. This was a 3-2 victory.
They lost to Nottingham in the final 4-1. Well done to Adrian and Neil

Proposal for next meeting STOP u17/U19 leagues and replace this with 4
G.Ps across the season. These should be hosted by different clubs.
To reach a club winning team players could be awarded points for top 10
places (20 pts for winning 2pts for 10th). This should apply to only 3
players from each club.
A discussion and decision will be taken at the next meeting.
Coaching Can Steve and Julian please use people who owe us time for
funding them.
Assistance: Need more ladies to help on girls matches. If you know
possibilities please approach them and put names forward.
AOB Need to get dates for 06/07 season ASAP so we can fit in coaching
