BALANCE Some prefer head-heavy rackets for power. Others like lighter or more balanced rackets. This is a personal choice but most rackets are available around 120-160g. The most popular weight is 140g but the balance is as important.

WEIGHT The full range is from 100g to 170g unstrung. Lighter rackets generally give you more control, while heavier ones give you more power.

STRINGS For best performance replace the factory strings with performance ones. Thin strings give more control but are less durable. The tension should be between 24 - 30 lbs per square inch. Lower tension gives more power and less control (Beginner - Intermediate). Higher tensions gives more control but less power (Expert).

HEAD SIZE Most brands range from 470 square cms to 520. Smaller heads tend to give more control but less power. Larger heads give more power and have larger sweet-spots but less control. Larger heads are more "forgiving" and are best for less accomplished players.
