News from RLTSC

Dear Member,

Welcome to the 5th RLTSC newsletter of the 2005/6 season.

Tennis Trophy Presentation :

There will be a presentation of trophies and medals to the finalists of the Radlett Senior Tennis Tournament 2005 this weekend.

Venue : RLTSC club house

Date : 1st October 2005.

Time : 17h00

The presentation will be made by our club President, Mr Brian Hardy. It would be great if you could come down to the club and give the finalists your support. I'm afraid I am unable to attend as it is my Mums 80th birthday party and I've promised her a dance before her bed time !

Facilities Manager :

You may or may not be aware that the position of Facilities Manager at RLTSC has been made redundant.

As a result of this difficult decision, Bill Holiday is no longer with us in that capacity. He is still a valued member of the club who captained the Watford & District League Men's 'D' team to promotion this year.

I would like to thank Bill for his efforts over the last 4 years or so and for helping me when I started here in December 2004. He was a great source of information about the workings of the club, tennis teams and the club house itself.

"Thank you Bill and Good Luck" from all of us here at RLTSC.

Membership :

Our membership is currently at 766 ( ! ) up from 676 back in April 2005. Thank you to all who promote our club by talking to friends and family encouraging them to join. There are joiner packs available from me in the office that I send to all new members. If you know of anyone who would like a bit of information about RLTSC and is thinking of joining please come and collect a pack from me or email their details to me and I'll post a pack to them.

Herts Tennis Winter Matchplay Circuit :

This is a series of outdoor/indoor matchplay events around the county, for players U12, U14 and U16 in rating bands Div 9 & 10.

RLTSC will be hosting 3 events during the winter season.

Entry forms and further details are on the junior notice board and can also be obtained from the County Office on 01707 393372 and from the County website : www.hertstennis.co.uk

The Radlett dates are :

U12 - 4th December 2005
U14 - 15th January 2006
U16 - 13th November 2005

Tennis Holiday Camps 2005 :

The final holiday camp of the year will take place during Autumn half-term. Please pick up a booking form on the junior notice board, complete and return to me in the office with your payment.

Dates : Monday 24th October to Friday 28th October 2005.
Times : 09h30 to 12h30 daily
Ages : 4 to 14
Cost : Members £60/week or £14/day
Non-members £70/week or £16/day

Please contact Head Coach Gee Chhina ( 07793 319847 ) or Anthony Searle ( 07786 211905 ) if you need any advice about these camps, tennis schools or individual coaching.

Kitchen :

I would now like to send out a plea to all members who use the kitchen facilities. Please make sure that ALL crockery, cutlery and anything else that's used is washed up, dried up and put away before you leave.

"Thank you" to those that often clean up after others…It's up to the rest of us to make sure that they don't have to any more.

Otherwise its 50 push-ups on court 1 for all to see !
